Quote of The Moment

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. ~John Muir

Listening to the rainsdrops fall...

and enjoying a wonderfully LAZY day.

Who knew having your boyfriend come visit would be so tiring? Tiring in a good way! Our week together ended early Saturday morning when I dropped him off at the airport at 4:30 a.m. I went back home to bed for another 4 hours, he slept for all but 45 minutes of his cross-country flight :o)

Sleepy people we were!

Yesterday I went to a co-worker's wedding. It was so so perfect. They got married in his mom's backyard, she wearing a handmade dress, he in his favorite hawaiian shirt. The quilts she sewed were hung up as decoration. It was so neat. Someday I hope I have a wedding as perfect as theirs.

Afterwards, my co-worker/friend J, who rode to the wedding with me, stopped by the outlets for a little retail therapy. We had a blast- Banana Republic was having an awesome sale. How awesome? Shorts for $5.99 and tops for $3.49. Pretty much awesome. I also splurged on a cute pink military esque jacket. VERY flattering for my figure. I can totally rock it with jeans for a night out on the town :o)

It was so fun to just wander through the stores, it was the first time J had been shopping since she broke her foot. It was neat how we often gravitated to the same items, one would always defer so we wouldn't take the chance of being "twinsies" at work. But more often than not it worked out that the item we liked only had one of our sizes or only looked good on one of us. I like it when things work out!

And in an ultimate round of retail therapy... I bought myself these:

Figured I deserved them after my stressful week, AND at Sierra Trading Post they were marked 69% off, $38.99 for Ariat Doll Baby Boots ain't half bad. They'll be here in a week! Alrighty off to feed the Storm Dog, he's giving me the "I'm starving sheltie" stare.

Happy end to the weekend!

We got caught out in the rain as we were loading up the truck so we can drop off some donations tomorrow. And we had thunder and lightening too. Nice to have a bit of rain even if it felt chilly after the 90 deg weather we had last week.

Doesn't it always rain when you are trying to haul things that really shouldn't get wet?

I remember a neighbor of ours who got caught in a thunderstorm when she was moving her pool table. Luckily they were close to an overpass... I couldn't imagine the mess if they couldn't have gotten under it!

Glad you had fun with the boy. We had some rain, too, but we NEED it! :)
